Winz Wagon Wheel Ranch started with a dream of Ray & Nadine's wanting to raise Charolais bulls back in the early 1960's. He pioneered the Charolais breed in the state of Nebraska throughout his lifetime. Sadly Ray passed away in 2022 but Ray's dream is still going strong. Nadine is still very much involved in the herd management.
Doug has played pivotal roles in our medical and ration development, as well as herd record keeping for the Charolais Association. In addition to his role on the ranch, he also serves on the local sale barn board, is an active member in Farm Bureau, and is on the Nebraska Charolais Association Board.
Steve manages the farm side of the operation and helps out quite a bit making the Livestock operation run smoothly. Renee is the official record keeper for the farm but also does so much more helping to keep everyone in the field.
Greg, Steve and Renee's second son, helps determine the sale bulls, retainment heifers, as well as future herd sires. He does much of the doctoring and feeding of the herd. Chantel has taught elementary school at Wilcox-Hildreth for about ten years now.
Garrett, Steve and Renee's third son, is our nightwatchman during calving season and does a phenomenal job. He also manages the farm side keeping everything running smoothly. Kenzie helps out with meals in the field to keep field work and harvest rolling.
Michael, Steve and Renee's first son, manages and operates the crop side of the operation. He also creates our ration for all of our livestock, from wintertime cow feed to our yearling bull development ration. Chelsea also plays a huge role with helping out with making food when the men are in the field.
